Point Wilson Waterside Infrastructure Remediation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div> Point Wilson Waterside Infrastructure Remediation. Construction by Brady Marine & Civil of a 2.3km approach jetty and 130m jetty head.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div> The Point Wilson Waterside Infrastructure Remediation was a project to rebuild an existing jetty used for the loading and unloading of explosive ordnance for the Department of Defence. Brady were engaged by Managing Contractor CPB Contractors to undertake the reconstruction of the 2.3 km jetty and the demolition and replacement of the 130m wharf, including 3 mooring dolphins.<\/span><\/p>\n Originally constructed in 1961, Point Wilson is a dedicated explosives storage facility near Geelong in Victoria.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The scope of works for Brady Marine & Civil included:<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Special Features<\/b><\/p>\n 7 large construction barges were utilised for up to 2 years to enable works to proceed on a number of different work fronts.<\/span><\/p>\n The design and supply of a bespoke \u201cc-hook\u201d lifting frame facilitated the safe removal of existing wharf slabs while providing complete containment of slurry run-off from the concrete sawing operation.<\/span><\/p>\n All demolition material was returned to shore for onward transport to a concrete recycling plant for crushing and recycling of concrete and reinforcing steel.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n
