Our Environmental Sustainability Strategy provides a framework to pursue our vision for a more sustainable construction sector.

Ambitious targets for carbon reduction

This framework outlines our progress to date in responding to key risks and opportunities facing our business. It establishes our environmental sustainability priorities and commitments, to support our growth “over water, above expectations”.

Our shareholders have embraced ambitious targets for carbon reduction across their global operations, including reduction of Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 40% and Scope 3 emissions by 20% by 2030 (compared to 2022). Consistent with these targets, Brady Marine have taken concrete action to reduce our emissions and are currently seeing positive results from actions implemented.

The construction industry is in a period of transition. Where environmental sustainability considerations may have previously been ad-hoc or applied only to selected projects, now proactive management of energy use, water consumption, waste generation and materials consumption is expected across all projects and operations.

Such change requires a shift in industry and company cultures. BMC is committed to establishing itself as a leader in environmental sustainability and fostering a company culture that reflects and values that leadership.

The intent is that environmental sustainability is integrated in every facet of BMC operations, with all employees feeling empowered and motivated to improve environmental sustainability performance across our operations.

Our head office is fitted with 100 kW of solar panels, and solar power provides ancillary power on all of our barges. We are developing plans to electrify our crane fleet, and sourcing alternative fuels where electrification is not practical.

In conjunction with our design partners, we develop innovative designs for maritime infrastructure which reduce the required quantities of steel and concrete, are quicker to construct with less resources and require less maintenance. These facets provide more competitive solutions for our clients while reducing the scope 3 emissions associated with delivery of the works.
